Music often seems to me to be a sort of alchemy. You find things you like and throw them together to make something new and wondrous. Not quite changing lead to gold, but the feeling I get from a piece wherein I have held the mood and timblre of the whole piece is just wonderful, and hard to beat. I hope you can hear at least a little bit of what I mean.
